Graduate Studies

Step 1: Confirm enrollment

Reply to our offer of admission and secure your spot.

• Log into your admission portal.
• Find "Reply to offer of admission" under the "Forms" section.
• Pay the $150 confirmation fee to confirm your enrollment.

Step 2: Activate your FLC account

Gain access to essential student systems.

• Your FLC account is different from your admission portal log-in.
• Find your FLC identification number in your admission portal.
• Use your FLC ID number to activate your account.
• You will use your FLC account to:
  • Log into your FLC email (official college communication).
  • Access Workday for student records, classes, and billing.
  • Use theFort to search for tasks and resources.

Step 3: Ensure you have the right technology

Prepare for online learning and coursework.

Principal leadership graduate programs require specific technology. Graduate students can use a personal device or campus computer labs.

Technology requirements for personal devices:

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word & PowerPoint) – free for all students.
• Internet connection with the latest browser version.
• Adobe Acrobat Reader.
• Web conferencing & media recording capabilities.
• USB, iSight, or Firewire webcam.
• Headphones with a microphone.
• Optional: Canvas mobile apps for iOS or Android.

IT staff can assist you with troubleshooting at the Connection Center.

Step 4: Familiarize yourself with Canvas

Complete the technology modules to prepare for online learning.

• Search for “Canvas” on theFort.
• Log in and complete technology modules at your own pace.
• The modules take only a couple of hours to complete.

Step 5: Register for classes

Complete your course registration.

Once you confirm enrollment, you will receive a "permission to register" email.

Step 6: Provide immunization records

Meet Colorado health requirements to avoid registration holds.

Under Colorado law, graduate students born after January 1, 1957, who attend in-person classes must:

• Be immunized against measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR).
• Submit proof of two MMR vaccinations before these deadlines:
  • Fall start: September 15
  • Spring start: January 31
  • Summer start: June 15
• A $25 late fee applies if the deadline is missed.
• Students who do not submit records cannot register for future terms.

Step 7: Complete supplemental paperwork

Submit forms based on your eligibility.

• Request accommodations with the Accessibility Resource Center.
• Apply for the Native American Tuition Waiver.

Step 8: Apply for scholarships

Secure financial support for your program.

• All degree programs offer scholarship funding.
• Apply by June 1 for priority consideration.
• Scholarship applications are accepted until funds are awarded.
• Learn how to apply for scholarships.

Step 9: Complete background check & fingerprints

Required for principal leadership, special education, and teacher licensure students.

• To be eligible for student teaching placement, candidates must be fingerprinted by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE).
• Fingerprinting and background checks are processed by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
• View fingerprinting & background check instructions.

Step 10: Mark your calendar for orientation

Graduate Student Orientation is required.

Fall 2026 orientation is TBD. The orientation will be online. A Zoom link will be provided closer to the date.
